The Alternative to Paper Cups

Greening spearheaded the initiative for the sale of KeepCups on campus.

Each day about 1000 single-use cups are used for hot drinks in Mensa! Year after year, this generates a huge amount of waste.

Greening proposed an alternative to this unnecessary waste: KeepCups.

Alternatives to KeepCups

  • The Wettwer bookstore (close to TMS) sells “ecoffeecups” from the “The Natural Reusable” firm. They are made of bamboo fiber that is biodegradable. The lid and sleeve are made of food-grade silicon which is not biodegradable.
  • BPA-free to-go cups as recommended by Utopia.
